Toshimaya hot water distribution system

heat_exchanger

100% hot spring water flowing directly from the source
(no added water or heating)

Toshimaya has been running an Inn at Shima Onsen for many years and has three hot spring sources of its own that gush with bountiful spring water.
We have devised the best system for distributing that bountiful spring water.
This method uses a heat exchanger to control the water temperature.
We use heat exchangers developed by Hisaka Works on the hot spring sources that we have on premises (natural yield of 200 L/min at 60°C) to lower the temperature in the baths to around 42°C.
We use mountain water only to remove thermal energy.
The bathwater is not diluted by adding water.
We also do not use circulators or other such devices and instead allow water to flow naturally and unhindered from the source (the water gushes forth so much that it spills over) , so that all the baths at the Inn, including the large communal baths, private baths, and open-air baths attached to guest rooms, are continuously filled with fresh spring water.
We feel that these artesian springs are gifts from the earth.
We are grateful for the springs that are the amniotic fluid of the earth and a natural blessing and we wish to cherish it always.
